Velet Cosmetics joins the CircularGlow project to promote sustainable cosmetics

Velet Cosmetics, a company based at the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH), participates in the CircularGlow project together with the technological institute AITEX. This initiative focuses on the sustainable valorization of industrial waste to transform it into high value-added cosmetic ingredients.

The research project aims to apply principles of circular economy and cosmetic biotechnology to develop new functional ingredients for innovative cosmetic formulations within the professional vegan cosmetics sector.

Validation of ingredients obtained through upcycling

Within the project, Velet Cosmetics has worked on validating active ingredients obtained through upcycling processes, incorporating them into cosmetic formulations to evaluate their stability, safety and effectiveness.

These evaluations have been carried out through technical studies and volunteer testing in order to analyze the behavior of these ingredients in real cosmetic products and assess their potential for future market applications.

The CircularGlow project demonstrates how scientific research can contribute to the development of sustainable cosmetic ingredients, transforming industrial waste into valuable resources for the cosmetics industry.

Vegan cosmetics based on research and development

Founded by Cristina Abadía and David Guirao, Velet Cosmetics specializes in the development of professional vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics, designed for advanced aesthetic centers and aesthetic clinics.

The company develops its own cosmetic formulations based on advanced active ingredients and biotechnology, integrating innovative solutions into its product lines.

Among the company’s research and development areas are next-generation cosmetic ingredients such as:

  • Cosmetic exosomes- Neoxome®, biomimetic structures used as advanced cellular signaling systems in cosmetic formulations.
  • Superoxide dismutase (SOD), a powerful antioxidant enzyme widely used in cosmetics to help protect the skin against oxidative stress.
  • Vegan retinol, a biotechnological alternative designed to provide cosmetic benefits related to skin renewal.

The company also develops formulations based on multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and regenerative active ingredients to deliver effective solutions within the professional advanced cosmetics sector.

Innovation and sustainability in the cosmetics industry

Participation in the CircularGlow project reinforces Velet Cosmetics’ commitment to applied research, sustainability and the development of innovative cosmetic ingredients.

Through initiatives like this, the company continues integrating science, technology and sustainability into the development of cosmetic products, contributing to the evolution of an industry increasingly oriented toward circular economy and biotechnology.
